Pennington & Little team up to release their new single Purple Shampoo on Mighty Rumble. The original is a distinctly twisted take that immediately catches one to mind slick stereo. Clever plays of vocals, toms and hats rolls out the summery sound of house music and each of the effortless effects and delays allow the drums to bleed through our ears rhythmatically. Purple Shampoo reveals the revival of two-in-one where male and female vocals, clean and reverbs, dry and wet, echos and punch are more than welcome this summer of 2010.
On the heels of the original track, remixers Maker+Meyer cultivate their utterly unique style with a minimal approach of detune blips and beeps. Rich NxT flickers with deep drama, sparse percussions and completes the remix with that love melody low end. Jules Dickens brings house on a hint of aceed, Tommi & Nic liu goose colours with their insanely techno treatment, and The Love Express send us a lighthearted percussive house remix.
Pennington & Little’s debut outing on Mighty Rumble will be released on 5th July.
